Dressed in Red

I love a brave soul who goes for red. This Is a pretty drastic revamp, but if i do say so myself it turned out amazing. My client knew exactly what she wanted from the very start. Red, distressed and black glaze and that’s exactly what she got. I tried a new red from Colourtrend Paints called 🎨Siren and oh my it is just fabulous. I dont actually talk about glaze too much which is odd since I use it a lot. I always have a stock of Black, Brown and White ready made glazes from General Finishes which I get from the The Carpentry Store. Maybe I might do a little tutorial on glazing soon if things get quiet for me. For the moment though I’m up to my eyes in commissions so I’m lucky and happy and covered in paint as always 🤣
How fab is the bottom of the dresser on it’s own too ❤. I stained the top of this part using a mixture of diff colour stains just to get something unusual. It’s hard to see in the photos but it’s a beautiful contrast of dark and red wood with a hint of black going through it. I’m really trying to stay out of the workshop this weekend as I want to keep some sort of routine. Even though there is nothing to do I dont want to end up working 7 days just to keep the boredom at bay. I’ll just get fed up after a while and that’s the last thing I want to happen as the paint brush is the only thing keeping me sane at the moment, as I’m sure it is for a lot of us x
