Well that was great fun on Ireland AM. Myself and Ger, Dave and Aarran from Rediscovery Centre doing some upcycling and having the craic.
Ps. It was pointed out that my shirt matched my decoupage. I now regret not buying two shirts and using one of them on the locker 😂😂
These lockers were designed to show off the art of decoupage on furniture. I chose a paper napkin for the top drawer, wallpaper for the middle drawer and fabric for the bottom. 🎨Mucky Swan from Colourtrend Paints
I have decided to not post about the Corona Virus (except this post 😂)
I’m sure we all know what we need to do to keep ourselves and everyone around us safe. I’m in a lucky position that this lockdown wont change my day to day life as I’ll still be all alone in my workshop with my paintbrush for company 😁.
I have lots to keep me going. 3 sets of kitchen tables and chairs, 2 Kitchen dressers, 1 bedroom set, 1 retro office desk, 1 tv unit and coffee table. In fact there is a good chance the virus will be well gone before I get through this lot 🤣. Stay safe everyone and for anyone needing toilet roll, I have a large selection of napkins that I may have to sell 😂😂 only €20 per napkin 😘😉
My Interview from yesterday on Dublin City FM. I havent been able to listen back yet. Might need a few drinks to listen to myself 😂. I didnt curse either so that was good 😉
This has always driven me crazy about how certain paint companies make it seem like you just open the tin, get your brush and off you go. The first picture is after I washed down the piece with methylated spirits to get the surface dirt off. The second picture is after I scrubbed thoroughly with sugar soap (pic 3 is just from that small area). Very old pieces like these most often will have come from houses where people smoked but because it’s a progressive ingrained stain over many years, it can look to people that it is just now the colour of the wood. Always double check old furniture when cleaning otherwise you are wasting your time painting it 🙂
What a fabulous surprise to find myself in @rsvpmagazine1 this month. I’m just a little bit excited 🤣🤣. This dressing table has always been one of my favourite ever revamps and to have it shared with the whole of Ireland is just amazing.
I’ve had a load of enquires about the Self Adhesive Contact Paper from Home Textile Warehouse that I used on some projects recently. It really is fantastic for updating furniture and it is so easy to use too. There are loads of different designs to choose from from florals to metallics to wood. If you are interested in finding out more or ordering check out their website at Home Textile Warehouse
I was very generously gifted the Two Fussy Blokes rollers by Butler and Dunne Ltd to try out. I’m sure you might expect a review on furniture but coincidentally I was about to paint this wall so said I’d try them on the wall first and then on furniture. I used the smooth sleeve for this job and well what can I say only the hype is real and well deserved. I genuinely was amazed with how good it was. So easy to paint with, no paint splatters and the finish was smooth as silk. Next up I’ll be using the semi smooth on some furniture.

Pantone colour of the year has just been announced and its a beauty #livingcoral
Id like to say i was well ahead of the pack by a few weeks but its just pure coincidence 😂
How amazing does it look on furniture though. I look forward to many projects using this colour next year 😍😍

Had so much fun yesterday at The South East House and Home show. Demo went great and was amazed at the size of the crowd, thank you all for coming to see me. Thanks so much to Claire and Róisín for inviting me to demo at the show and looking after me too. And if you are wondering why the lovely Roz Purcell 😍 is making faces, its because during my demo she arrived and went to say hi to her mother in the audience. Her mother told her to mind out of the way she was busy watching me 😂😂😂
